I am a proud member of the INTRAC network, see more information about INTRAC below.
Research and Programme Coordinator.
INTRAC is a UK based non-profit organisation that builds the skills and knowledge of civil society to be more effective in addressing poverty and inequality. At INTRAC, I worked as Programme Coordinator for the Development Alternative and for the Civil Society Innovation Fund in Ethiopia (see above). I undertook additional MEL and research work to support on consultancy projects, including assistance with development of methodologies, desk reviews, quantitative and qualitative research, and design or implementation of MEL frameworks. Edgar Diabetes & Obesity Research (EDOR) is a University of Otago flagship research centre, aiming to make a significant contribution to reducing the global burden of diabetes and obesity through research and dissemination of knowledge. As coordinator of the network I lead a systematic social network analysis and established a nationwide network of all New Zealand groups involved in diabetes and obesity-related research, service, and advocacy. Through the EDOR NZ Network we aim to facilitate greater connectedness and offer authoritative consensus commentary on diabetes and obesity related issues. Additional tasks included: media management, social media and web content for EDOR. As assistant research fellow I have been involved in various studies (pilot studies, observational research, and randomised-controlled trials) on the relationship between sleep and overweight in children, screen-use and sedentary behaviours in teenagers, interventions to prevent type 2 diabetes in obese adults.
